Trade Justice Alliance

Trade Justice Alliance (formerly the National TPP Team) is a coalition of organizations working together in opposition to unfair trade deals. They collaborate at the national/international level in producing resources for grassroots activists including webinars and an e-newsletter. They are also working to build a network of local organizer contacts and affiliated local coalitions of grassroots organizations collaborating to stop TPP and other unjust trade agreements.

The Trade Justice Alliance produces excellent webinars with trade experts, union leaders, and activists. To view the webinars go to their YouTube page here!

Alliance for Democracy

The Alliance for Democracy has long opposed undemocratic multinational trade deals that enshrine corporate power over the will of the people. We brought our perspective to the teach-ins and talks that were key to launching an anti-corporate globalization movement at the “Battle of Seattle,” organized against the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATTS) and the Multinational Agreement on Investment (MAI), and most recently took on the Trans-Pacific Partnership

Friends of the Earth

Friends of the Earth’s longstanding program on international trade seeks to educate the public and policymakers about the environmental dangers and undemocratic nature of trade agreements. We monitor existing trade and investment deals and currently are working to prevent the Trans-Pacific Partnership, known as the “NAFTA of the Pacific,” from being able to overturn laws that protect the environment.

Citizens Trade Campaign

Citizens Trade Campaign (CTC) is a broad and diverse national coalition of environmental, labor, consumer, family farm, religious, and other civil society groups founded in 1992 to oppose the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). CTC united in a common belief that international trade and investment are not ends unto themselves, but instead must be viewed as a means for achieving other societal goals such as economic justice, human rights, healthy communities, and a sound environment.

Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch

Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch seeks to ensure that in this era of globalization, all Americans can enjoy economic security, a clean environment, safe food, medicines and products, access to quality affordable services such as health care and the exercise of democratic decision-making in matters that affect them and their communities. GTW combines substantive and analytical capacity with extensive grassroots, press, and policymaker relationships to develop public policy debates on vital trade and globalization issues.

Sierra Club’s Responsible Trade Program

For more than two decades, the Sierra Club’s Responsible Trade Program has shed light on the threats that the status quo corporate trade model poses to people and our planet. Most recently, we worked with progressive allies to help defeat the toxic Trans-Pacific Partnership. We believe that trade done right can promote broadly shared prosperity while protecting workers and the environment. We are working to broaden and strengthen the movement for a new approach to trade that supports, rather than undermines, good jobs, healthy communities, clean air and water, and climate justice.
